Plural Magic

Have you ever run into occasions where a system who was in the midst of soulsearching and self-identifying felt confused as to what type of system they might be? I know we had a period where we weren't sure what our origins were, because or former main was so fearful of losing control over a situation that she was suppressing the others. She thought she was a median system for a time before recognizing, eventually, that we were actually a natural one, but also in some senses a gateway system. She then stopped caring about labels, but. I was wondering if you'd known of any other people who experienced such evolving perceptions while they were sorting themselves out. I'm curious, mostly, wondering how common that is. I don't get out into the communities much.
